The Maritime Self-Defense Force's Okinawa base agreed cooperation with NTT Docomo, Okinawa Cellular, SoftBank and Rakuten Mobile for communications restoration after disasters, including island damage and blocked roads.
Naval ships and bases will support personnel and equipment transport; telecoms will provide power equipment and other resources. Joint exercises and regular meetings aim to make the arrangements work.
